Should Teaching Sunday School Be Easy? An Encouraging Word for Sunday School Teachers

I have the privilege of offering teacher training workshops to hundreds of Sunday School teachers and children's workers every year. I love what I do, but sometimes I don't like what I hear. Take, for example, this question: Do you have something easy I can do for Sunday School? If I am honest, when I hear that, it's like hearing fingernails being scraped on the chalkboard. On one hand, I know we are all busy and life is more hectic than ever. But on the other hand, it is essential that every Christian is aware of child workers, teaching the children about God could be a major task that will ever have. major projects take a lot of work. They are not easy and requires a lot of preparation and passion.

Preparation:

There is a saying which reads as follows: The teacher who fails to prepare, prepare to fail. I'm just preparing for Sunday Schoolon Saturday night, you are not putting the time and work in that God and your children deserve. All the elements of a good Sunday school class should be well thought out and completely prepared. Have you read and meditated on the Bible story you will share? Are you ready to present the story in a creative way that will keep your children interested and engaged? If doing a craft, do you have all the items ready for each child? Are your worship songs ready to sing? Make sure each and every part of your class time is completely ready to present.

Passion:

On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited do you get about waking up on Sunday morning to share what God has given you with your kids? Now before you start thinking I'm some kind of saint, I have to tell you that I have my Sundays where my energy level is not very high. On the other hand, I can definitely attest to the fact that there are many Sundays where I can't wait to to my class. I'm really excited to share what God has given me to share every child. Ask my husband says is true. Really prepared with my Bible study and Bible songs and games of revision increases my excitement. Pray and ask the Lord, each of the children this week, bless my engine roars. There are many children in Sunday school classrooms in the world, just waiting for someone to share with them the love of God Yes.This is even true of kids from Christian homes. As a Sunday school teacher, you have the unique opportunity to pour into your 6 or 7 kids (or whatever your class size is) and lavish on them God's wonderful and life-changing truths. That is pretty incredible!

Bottom line - Being a Sunday school teacher is not easy and it takes good hones work. You should see being a Sunday school teacher as one of the greatest things you get to do each week. Your kids deserve it.

Who Should We Love?

Love is one of ingredients that keep the world moving: without it there would be lots of hate, prejudice, murder, oppression, victimization, etc. But as believers there is a standard set for us by our Lord Jesus Christ, which we must follow religiously if we're to be like him.

Jesus instructed us to love certain categories of people in order to show to the world that we are his true disciples.

1. Love God: According to Jesus Christ, the first and greatest commandment is that we should love God with our heart, soul and mind (Matt 22:37-38; Mark 12:29-30). The love for God should supersede that which we have for any other person or being, because he deserves the number one place in our hearts.

2. Our neighbours: Jesus also said that next to loving God is that we should love our neighbours as ourselves (Matt 22:39-40; Mark 12-31). Why should we love our neighbours next to God? It is because if we love our neighbours we would not sin against them (Rom 13:9)

3. Strangers: Both the Old and New Testaments admonish us to love strangers because we were strangers, we are going to be stranger one day, and because there are rewards for loving them. (Lev. 19:34; Dut 10:19, Heb 13:2)

4. All men: The word of God advises us to do good to all men, especially those who are of the household of faith (believers). Doing good is not implying we should be moralistic; rather it is saying we should do good to them out of a heart of love. The good deeds should be motivated by true love for them (Gen. 6:10).

5. Our enemies: Jesus Christ also made it clear we should not limit ourselves to loving only those who love us and hating those who hate us, just like the pagans do. Rather he instructed us to "love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you..."(Matt 5:43-48, Rom. 12:20-21, Ex. 32:4-5, Prov. 25:21-22).

We must therefore be able to see everybody just the same way our Lord Jesus sees them, and treat them the way he expects us to treat them. We should be lavish in giving out love because it is one of those attributes that differentiate us from pagans. When we love generously we show that we belong to Christ and that lives in us

Sunday school activities - should be fun and memorable

Sunday school activities are fun and memorable experience for children. I remember when I was in school was Sunday we had a lot of activity. So I think I remember the lessons, as I still do. Since we have activities that we were learning the lesson. One of the stories come to mind is the Ark of Noah and all the animals. We had color pictures of Noah sent the dove and olive branch, as we have the biblical story.

There have been more> Arts & Crafts at Easter time and I remember making a cross to remember how Jesus died for us. I still trades again saved from those days, trying to say much. At the time we played games that helped keep our thoughts wander off and helped keep our interest in teaching. My children are the same types of crafts and games today and enjoy it as well.

Just is a professor at tedious and boring for a child. When these early experiences haveCraft has been taught, without games, and has not been maintained Sunday school are many things I learned in those days. The lessons I learned helped with the method of doing and learning together to breathe deep into my head.

Activity that we have in our Sunday school class, we learn by heart and had to repeat Bible verses on the teacher. If we succeeded, we have our name on a piece of paper that went into a basket. ToEnd of class the teacher pulled one out and that person would get a prize. When it was announced a prize, we all worked hard to learn the Bible verses, because everyone knew their prices were her homemade chocolate chip cookies!
