Church Crafts - Two Ways to Get Creative in Sunday School

Sunday school activities are supposed to be fun, creative and exciting. A lot of the time, though, you may have a difficult time coming up with interesting church crafts that your children's church will enjoy. Here are two Sunday school crafts for your students to enjoy.

Stained Glass Bible Activity

For this Bible craft, you'll need the following supplies:

*wash-out markers
*coffee filter
*construction paper
*spray bottle filled with water
*clear contact paper

Hand out a coffee filter to each of your children's ministry students, and advise them to color it as they please with the markers (it's imperative that you bring markers that are washable). Next, have the kids spray the coffee filter with the spray bottle.

After the filter is dry, cut a cross out of the construction paper for each of your children's liturgy students (I would advise having these pre-cut before class, or allowing your kids to do it themselves if they are old enough). Now help the students glue the colorful filter to the construction paper and cover it with clear contact paper to ensure it lasts as long as possible. The students will love having something to bring home to their families, and it will prove to be a great addition to your curriculum.

Sandpaper Sunday School Craft

This is a great church craft to do if your current Sunday school curriculum incorporates Egypt. For this craft, you'll need enough pieces of coarse sandpaper for each student to have one as well as a lot of crayons.

Instruct your children's church students to draw an Egyptian scene on the sandpaper. Encourage them to draw pyramids, a sunset, and people. Tell them to be sure that they press hard on the crayons to get the best results.

This Bible craft will give your children's ministry students something to bring home to their families, which will spur conversation about the lessons they learned during Sunday school.

These two church crafts are great ways to get your students to tap into their creative sides while also reinforcing other lessons that you teach.

Bible Games - Two Ideas to Enhance Your Children's Church

Sunday school provides children and the young people of your church with a place to learn more about the teachings of youth ministry. Bible games are both fun and educational activities that get the students of your children's church involved in the learning process.

Bible Verses Idea for Sunday School

To prepare for this Bible activity, you'll need blank business cards or index cards, enough for all of the verses that you want to cover. First, write or type each verse onto a business or index card-you want to make sure you have enough for all the children in your Bible lesson class. If you want to spice up your cards, you can decorate them by hand or even add some simply graphics from the Internet.

When you're ready to go about the Bible game, hand out the cards so that each child has one or two cards. Go through the youth ministry class and have each child recite the verse on his or her card. Encourage the children to take their card home and to work hard on memorizing the verse. The children who return the following week that have memorized their verse gets a small prize or reward.

Dictionary of God Sunday School Craft

You'll need the following for this church craft:

*Ten sheets of paper for each student
*Three-hole punch
*Folders with bendable fasteners
*Markers, crayons, stickers and other decorating tools

First, punch three holes in enough sheets of paper so that each child in your children's church can start with ten sheets. This Bible game can continue on for several weeks or even a few months, if you work on it for about ten minutes each class.

Provide each student with one folder and ten sheets of paper. Place the paper inside the folder and have your class write their names on the front cover of their folder.

Instruct your Sunday school class to write the letter "A" on the top of the first page. Towards the middle of the page, they should write "God is..." Then your class should spend time completing the sentence with words that begin with the letter "A." For example, "God is Awesome." Then have your children write down examples of how awesome God is.

During the next class, have your students write the letter "B" on the top of the second phrase. They should again write "God is..." in the middle of the page and concentrate on filling the page with adjectives describing God that being with the letter "B." This Bible lesson is a great way to work on your students' vocabulary and creativity while also getting them to focus on things about God.

Bible Activities - Get Your Students Involved With Church Crafts

For most students of youth ministry, the best Bible activities are those where the class gets to be involved. Sunday school crafts are ideal for classes of any age (but particularly for the younger students), and these activities give your students a fun church craft to take home and share with their family and friends.

Beaded Cross Pin Sunday School Craft

For this Bible activity, you'll need the following for each student:

*One pipe cleaner
*Fifteen pony beads
*One safety pin

Before class begins, cut the pipe cleaners so that each child has one three-inch piece and one two-inch piece. Now instruct your students to twist the two pipe cleaner pieces together to form a cross. Next, they should thread three of the beads on each side of the horizontal and the very top cross piece and six on the bottom of the cross. At this point, your youth ministry students should bend over the pipe cleaner ends to secure the beads in place. Finally, bend the end of the pipe cleaner at the top of the cross around the safety pin and pin the beaded cross on to each child! They'll love showing off the end result of this Bible activity to their family and friends.

Bible Verse Flower Church Craft

You'll need the following for each student for this Bible activity:

*Red, yellow and green construction paper
*Pencil
*Scissors
*Fine point black marker

Before your youth ministry class starts, draw a large flower stem and leaves on each piece of green construction paper (one piece per student), draw the center of the flower on the yellow paper (approximately two and a half inches across), and five petals on the red paper (large enough for the kids to write a Bible verse on each one). When the kids arrive and you're ready to begin the church craft, instruct your children to cut out the pieces on their construction paper. If you're dealing with a younger group of students, you may want to have the pieces pre-cut.

Instruct your class to glue the petals to the back of the circle. Next they should glue the stem to the back of the flower and then glue the leaves to the stem's back. Now it's time for your students to write Bible verse on each petal. I suggest selecting Bible verses that coincide with the day's lesson. After the verses are completed, have your students glue the flower to a fresh piece of construction paper.

When this Bible activity is completed, your students will have a colorful Bible verse flower to show off to their friends.

Complacency in the Church to overcome the

Complacency is overcome by change, but change you must first have passed complacency. This is the chicken and egg problem that comes before. Change starts with one powerful person, he or she is lying a few examples of others, producing some benefit of the group and then spreads more widely distributed. To effect change, you must have a plan or program. To ensure a successful program that changes and modifications must have a participationThe people in the change reduce complacency. The more programs, the change less and self-satisfaction.

The problem is overcome with programs on how to keep them up and bring positive results. I have read Leading Change by John P. Kotter, is your ship by Captain Michael D. Abrashoff and now the 80/20 principle by Richard Koch, to learn how to overcome this problem of complacency. Leading Change explains how and why, and your ship will give youuse management techniques and the 80/20 principle will help you align resources for best results.

The plan:

Over the next year we will develop a program with a team of our church, which will launch in 2008 a new program called The hours of development, the Christians in High Places. With the aim of offering concrete solutions to our Christian world around us. The companies are leaders, they survive by making necessary changes to make it able to take looktwenty-first century, and what better way to spread the message of Jesus as having strong Christians to do the job properly.

The method:

We propose to use the resources of our senior citizens for the experiences on how to overcome past mistakes and tap the abilities of Change leader teaching for the future.
To create a coalition of leadership, derived from church leaders and elders are willing to accept the challenge to run the program and suggestions forImprovements.
For teachers, Sunday school classes for all ages.
It offers courses in finance and administration.
conduct classes on leadership for the twenty-first century.
conduct classes on management techniques from the examples of the book It's Your Ship data.
Have consultations about gifts and how to make them work.
In 2007, a list of courses offered and class outlines, review and improvement of each class of a courseBase.

The advantage:

Other people involved in the service.
Less than complacency in the church.
The growth of our Sunday school and church, involving the community.
Enable our youth to be successful in working with the tools needed in building a Christian.
To identify our gifts and how to use them.
With a strong team in the coalition, the installation time of the review process, you can keep on track.

L 'final destination, overcome complacency

To pass in the final analysis, self-satisfaction, the program needs to earn victories in the short term. There should be the team and the leadership of the Coalition held at regular intervals.
The new programs should be launched in no less than 18 months overlap existing programs to make the changes go ahead. The more programs that are ongoing at the same time the greater the impact of the reduction in complacency.
Accept the80/20, the programs will produce 20 percent of the costs, 80 percent of income. So, to work on improving the first 20 per cent for the results composed. A small improvement in the top 20 percent will translate into higher earnings.
Look at the example that Jesus gave us, has chosen a coalition of 12 Guide, gave them a program that produces short-term gains (miracles) and had the program in motion with the introduction of new programs. Note that, just like 12 with a snake, have an ego, and snakes have to do.
