Children's Sunday School - A Fun and Exciting Bible Craft

Crafts go a long way to getting your students interested in learning more about Christianity and the teachings of the Bible. If you approach your children's Sunday school class each week with an open mind and a fresh set of Bible crafts, you're sure to make an impact on your students.

Paper Bead Cross Necklace Bible Activity

This Sunday school craft may be a little overwhelming at first, but your children's Sunday school class with absolutely love it.

For this Bible craft, you'll need the following:

*Various scrap paper such as:
-Gift wrap
-Magazine pages
-Newspaper
-Construction paper
*A pen or pencil for each child
*Glue
*Scissors
*String or ribbon that will fit through the bead's holes

Now it's time to share with your children's Sunday school class how to make the paper beads. First, have your class make three one-inch beads and one two-inch bead to form the cross. Any leftover beads can be used for a different necklace or threaded onto the paper bead cross necklace in rosary fashion.

Have your students cut out long triangles from the scrap paper. The triangle should be at least eleven inches long and as wide as you want the bead to be. Now use the pencil or pen as the base. Put glue on the back side of the triangle, past the first half-inch or so (so the paper won't be glued to your pencil). Begin at the wider end and wrap the paper around the pencil all the way, resulting in a tapered bead. Fill up your pencil with beads and set them over a bowl to air-dry.

Assembling the Sunday School Craft

Now it's time to put the necklace together. Instruct your children's Sunday school class to take one piece of string and thread both a one-inch and two-inch bead on it. Tie a knot in one end to secure the beads; tie a loop in the other end. Now tie a short rope in the middle of the first string of pearls. Thread a bead on each side and fasten with a knot at both ends. You've created your cross!

The next step for the work the Bible is to take a long string and thread the cross over him. Now enter the profession of the church for your students to take home with family and with their friends and!
